GET INVOLVED

Light Repair & Maintenance

The light repair and maintenance program focuses on helping those in need with repair and maintenance services they are unable to perform themselves, and may pose a danger if not repaired.

Volunteers in this area will assess each situation and determine the level of repair and maintenance required, assemble the team needed, schedule the date and time, and then perform the repair and/or maintenance.

This also includes performing yard maintenance services.

Social Services Program

Affinity CAN recognizes it cannot be all things for all people, and also recognizes that there are hundreds of existing charitable organizations that provide a myriad of services to community at large, be it counseling related to grief, substance abuse, depression, finances, domestic violence, and many other areas of need.

Volunteers in this program will network with existing social service providers, as well as organizations that provide other types of assistance such as housing assistance, utilities assistance, in order to maximize Affinity CAN's ability to bridge the gap between the need and the goods or services required.

Food Program

The food program focuses on the delivery of shelf stable food items to those in need.

Volunteers in this area help by conducting food drives, working with local merchants to supply food items, and networking with existing food banks.

Volunteers may also be involved with the actual delivery of food to those in need.

Clothing Program

The clothing program is design to provide those in need with clothing.

Volunteers in this area help by collecting new or gently used clothing from our neighbors, working with local merchants to supply clothing items, and networking with existing organizations that supply clothing to those in need.

Volunteers may also be involved with the actual delivery of clothing to those in need.

Household Basics Program

The household basics program provides items such as cookware, dish ware, bedding, and other items necessary for everyday living.

Volunteers in this area participate by collecting items that may be useful in this area, work with local merchants to supply household items, and networking with existing organizations that provide this type of relief.

Volunteers may also be involved with the actual delivery of these items to those in need.

Community Outreach

Volunteers in this area are the ambassadors of Affinity CAN, spreading the word about our organization, what it provides, and how it can help our communities.

Volunteers may meet with existing organizations, neighborhood watch groups, homeowners associations, public officials, PTA's, and other groups where promoting Affinity CAN will benefit our community.

Volunteers in this program may also work on fundraising activities to provide the resources necessary to meet the needs of the community.
